The Highest Rank of a Professional
Historically, the rank "Diplomate" pertained to a member of the medical profession who had mastered his or her specialty beyond question. Today, the honor has been extended to include many other true professions. For example, Fr. Ewart is a former psychologist who once was very active in forensics and expert witnessing. For many years, he has held the title, "Diplomate, American College of Forensic Examiners."
This honor is bestowed by St. James the Elder Theological Seminary. Your certificate would read, for example, "Diplomate in Education" (or law, social work, ministry, etc.).
