THE FOUR PRELIMINARY REQUIREMENTS FOR THIS PROGRAM ARE:
1. Ministerial credentials or evidence of being under church authority.
2. A bachelor's degree or equivalent. Your work experience and existing knowledge may help qualify you.
3. Evidence of scriptural knowledge and belief as well as familiarity with the history of the Christian Faith.
4. A firm personal belief that you have been called and gifted for this vocation.

Documentation of 1,000 clock hours of counseling experience. You must meet weekly with a counselor near your home but he or she must be pre-approved by Fr. Ewart. This requirement can be fulfilled while you are completing your text assignments. [20 credits]
A research paper, publishable book, or project demonstrating excellence. Double-spaced, referenced, and indexed. Must be an important contribution to the field of Christian counseling. [30 credits]
THE ABOVE TWO REQUIREMENTS PROVIDE ANOTHER 50 CREDITS, FOR A TOTAL OF THE 90 CREDITS NEEDED FOR YOUR DOCTORATE. YOU HAVE EARNED A PH.D. IN CHRISTIAN COUNSELING THAT YOU CAN BE PROUD OF FOR THE REST OF YOUR LIFE!

Life Experience
Academic credits can be applied to your program through directly pertinent life experience. The same applies to prior knowledge through course work or self study if sufficienctly documented. In other words, we are concerned with what you know, rather than how you learned it.
This program is closely supervised, one-on-one, by Fr. Ewart, a former psychologist with 25 years of counseling experience.
Most states permit Christian counselors to charge a professional fee for services. However, check the laws of your state. In some cases the law requires that you be working under the authority of a church.
